Visitors from the Netherlands

Rani and Emily on top of the Fire Monument

This weekend Emily, a friend from Hendrix, and her friend Rani from Australia, came to visit.

On Friday we walked around the city, climbed the three-hundred and eleven steps to the top of the fire monument, walked by the Globe, the Tate Modern, the Millennium Bridge, the Tower of London, and St. Paul's Cathedral.

We also explored Borough Market, which was delicious as always. We tried a chicken and leek pie, a salted beef sandwich, and an empanada. We also found an adorable little tea shop.

Saturday we explored went to the changing of the guards at buckingham palace, checked out Covent Garden, learned that the nearby Patagonia store isn't technically a Patagonia store, went to Hyde Park,  met up with Emily's friend from camp, and checked out Harrods (Did you know they sell produce? They are like the most expensive Wall Mart ever). We also made it over to Trafalgar square to see the lions and the street performers. That night, we went to this really awesome bar called Roadhouse.

Then on Sunday we went to explore the slightly controlled chaos that is Camden Market, had afternoon tea, and checked out King's Cross Station and platform 9 3/4. Sunday night we stayed in, ate Ben & Jerry's, and watched A Lot Like Love, and Fools Rush In. It was a great weekend, and I can't wait to see them in Dublin this weekend!
